Throw my Name in the Ring

This is a new script that I've started, which is a gritty drama filming set around boxing. It's still a concept at this point, so the twists and turns are still flowing. In a small town where everyone is low income and struggling, Junior (Luke Hynes Jr) is working long hours and hardly sleeping to escape his past. A childhood accident involving Luke in the boxing ring, leaves Junior's father dead. Junior, who has been haunted by the incident since he was 16, has never stepped back in the ring. But he'll have to. When a pro boxer comes to town and wants to acquire the gym, doing anything to get it out of the owners hands, Junior steps up to defend the gym. Seeing what it truly takes to be a fighter and that every day we fight to escape our pasts, when really we should invite the pain and lessons our pasts teach us.
